WIA Lean-in: Five Ways to Wellbeing with Wendy de Silva

This meeting will explore how we can help ourselves and each other to look after our mental health, something which is particularly important in times of stress. We will identify  the triggers for our individual stress response and then consider how best to counteract them with tried and tested evidenced based remedies.

The New Economics Foundation did a meta study which identified  ‘Five  Ways to Wellbeing’ : connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give. I will facilitate a discussion and sharing group with examples and ideas which are relevant to these extraordinary times.  Everyone is invited to share their examples, challenges and learnings -in what will hopefully be an  enjoyable and effective way of helping and supporting each other.

Wendy de Silva is a partner of Chance de Silva architects and for the last 5 years has also been the IBI Group’s Mental Health Lead. She has designed award winning buildings which support peoples mental health recovery.  A firm believer that the built environment can and should be designed to support individual and community wellbeing,  she has spoken on this subject at conferences in the UK and Scandinavia.  She is a member of the Design in Mental Health Conference Committee and has been a judge for RIBA, DiMH and WAN Awards.
