Press Release: The Future of Women in Architecture - Launch of Report and Call To Action
Join Women in Architecture UK (WiA UK) as we launch our Future of Women in Architecture report and our next Call To Action, on-line Thursday the 30th September 12.30-1.30pm.
“This is absolutely required reading for every architect and student, long awaited since the last report in 2002. The call to action is practical and essential if we are to see meaningful change in the way all architects work and create value in society.” - Sumita Singha OBE RIBA
With so much changing around us so quickly, the opportunities to support and enable women to thrive in the workplace have never been greater. Working patterns have changed in previously unimaginable ways and the professed desire for diversity and inclusion has never been louder.
WIA UK has created a space for women to share, find mutual support and speak out. We were particularly active during the periods of lockdown. The survey we undertook earlier this year had 265 responses which capture what this unusually diverse group of people experienced. We asked our community - where do we currently stand, what works, what doesn't, what is missing, and what is most important to take into the future?
The report launch event will be chaired by Angela Dapper, Principal at Grimshaw, RIBA councillor and advocate for diversity in the profession. WIA committee members and special guests will be in conversation with Angela, sharing our findings and thoughts for the future.
Our goal is to help create a post- pandemic work environment that supports women in achieving their full potential, both in the workplace and in society. We can't do this on our own and we need your help. We invite you to:
