Women in Architecture Mentoring Programme 2023
We are delighted to OPEN the applications for the WIA 2023 Mentoring Programme!
WIA is committed to supporting women and people of marginalised genders in the architectural profession to progress fulfilling careers. We are delighted to provide our members with one of the most beneficial tools for further development: 1-on-1 mentoring.
WIA has teamed up with Tania Ihlenfeld, founder of Ede Enablers to lead this year’s programme because she knows first-hand how much mentoring can impact a person’s career.
Karen Fugle, Executive Coach at SleepingGiant Consulting and WIA committee member, will support Tania as we continue to build on the success of last year’s inaugural programme.
This programme aims to help women and people of marginalised genders, plus women in positions where immediate role models are absent or where external mentors aren’t offered. We welcome these applicants with open arms. If you want to be a mentor, however, there is no limitation to your gender identity because we know how many brilliant people there are who are passionate about fighting the gender disparity in architecture and moving our profession forward.
The built environment is there for ALL of us, so it is vital that ALL of us have a say in how it is designed!
Here are some details and dates to note:
Application period: 17th Oct - 4th Nov
Mentee & Mentor introduction emails are sent out in late Dec.
6-month active mentoring: Jan-Jun 2023
Suggested 1 - 2hrs per month mentoring time
Goal Setting Workshop in Jan for Mentees
Support for Mentors & Mentees via dedicated online group calls
Periodic feedback is via surveys
A social event to round off the event and share feedback
A closing feedback survey will measure the impact of the programme
