Designing Happiness, the name of Abigail’s next book and a design philosophy which has helped build her International Consultancy.  It is also the subject matter which will be discussed at Three Colours: Red.

The Giant Dolls’ House Project is the result of the ongoing research by Catja de Haas into the use of dolls’ houses and imaginary homes as a way to explore domesticity and architecture as a result of her PhD by design from UCL. The dolls’ house in the shoebox has been a fantastic medium to explore domestic space with its quirks, traditions and memories for both children as well as adults as it reflects the dreams, hopes, whims and ideas of its creators.

Passionate about architectural education at all ages Kathryn runs workshops for to students from primary school to college level on careers in the built environment and architectural skills. As well as critting and teaching, Kathryn co-leads an MA unit at Manchester School of Architecture with a focus on feminist architecture and designing for diversity.

Meet Katya Veleva, one of our guest speakers at Three Colours: White/Egalité. Katya will be mixing fact, fun and stories about her own personal oppressions bacuase “ it's way too much deviation from a straight white male I am dealing with here.”

“I am quite interested in self-imposed or internalised mental barriers within ourselves, which often are the most difficult to break down and most debilitating. When we have internalised barriers or self-perception, even deep down, we are a little less stronger, a little less sure of ourselves. In a situation that is already trying to push us out, we end up feeling unable to fight back.”

I presented What If Things Were Different first as a talk for the revitalised Women In Architecture, during the London Festival of Architecture in June 2019. It was a wonderful reason to put together thoughts on something so close to my heart- women and how they use outdoor space. People said they found it funny and stimulating.
